Oct 10 - Menu Plan

Having already misplaced my menu plan / grocery list once, I thought that it might be a good idea to type it out here real quick, lest I lose it again! lol  I'd lose my head, if it weren't attached. Goodness.

Anyway, this is what I have planned for this week.

Monday: Cheese Ravioli w/ sauce, garlic bread

Tuesday: Salisbury Steak, mashed potatoes, buttered corn

Wednesday: Grilled Cheese sandwiches and soup

Thursday: Beef hot dogs & chips

Friday: Baked Tilapia on a bed of onion, garlic & pepper green beans, and dressing.

Sabbath: ???  (Still thinking on that one. We'll have grocery money again by then, so I might pick up something nice at the market, for dinner. If I'm too busy Friday afternoon, then we will have some chicken and dumplings from the crockpot, with some challah and butter. )

For breakfasts, the children are eating what I guess would be called a rice custard. I cooked the rice until tender, added butter, milk, a wee bit of sugar, and then tempered and added two egg yolks. It's not very sweet, but it is filling, and not oatmeal. The little lambs are becoming slightly tired of eating oatmeal every morning. I did buy a couple boxes of cereal for Sissy, in case she wanted to eat some, but she had rice this morning with her brothers, instead. Myself, I don't know that I'm up for much of a breakfast this week. I have a sinus infection, so it is all I can do to drink some coffee between trips to the tissue box. I do generally eat lunch though, after I've cleared my head a little of the morning ick.

The boys are having fish and potatoes for lunch, for a few days. I am baking them some fish and tater tots, since they enjoy feeding themselves so much. Money is tight this week, but it cost less than $1 per day to give both of them a hot lunch this way, so yay.  :) I didn't buy any sweets at the grocery store, or even any baby "cookies" (I usually get the boys some kind of animal cracker or graham cracker to snack on.) Instead, I am baking homemade snacks this week. I have enough of the main staples to do this, and I think that everyone appreciates it a lot more anyway.

Since I happened to forget my grocery list at home, and I was under a time constraint, I am very happy that the only thing that I really forgot was some cheese. Oops. Hopefully, we have enough cheese in the fridge for our grilled cheese sandwiches. If not, I guess we'll have buttered and grilled toast with our soup. We have a little leftover luncheon meat that I sliced up yesterday, for sandwiches. So, we can sub that in there, if needed.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Messiah, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
